One-Line Cordless phone versus Multiline Cordless Phone

one line phone
Most of us have been used to having one line in our house or business that connects to many different phones with telephone jacks placed throughout our houses or business.  With the advent of cordless phones, it is possible to have one phone jack with one base and multiple handsets so that we can carry around or have easy access to a phone without holes in our walls for telephone jacks.   Now there are cordless phones with multiple phone lines that can be used for home and small businesses.     Currently we have two phone lines coming into our home and it would be great to have one base with the 2-line capability.  Why do we choose to have this type of system?  There is one telephone jack outlet in the wall but we are able to access both lines from one base.  The extensions have the capability of answering both lines so that the need for one handset with multiple lines cuts down on base stations.     Is it best to have one line or two lines?  It depends on the situation.  If you have a teenager, they can have their own phone and their own line.  If you are a small business but have a need for more than 1 line it is great as these phones are less expensive than a while telephone system for your business.  Some people work out of their home and want the second line for business and the first line for home.  This is what makes these portable phones an excellent choice.  The multiline cordless phone has unique ringing tones that can be set so that you know which line has the call.    When buying a single line portable phone think of how you are going to use that phone and decide if you want multiple handsets or a single handset.  The best on the market is the DECT 6.0 phones that have crystal clear reception and a good roaming distance for walking around while on the phone.   When buying a multiline portable phone think of how many handsets you need and how many lines you need.  The DECT 6.0 phones are the best on the market that are digitally enhanced so that there is no interference, wider range of reception and definite security of your phone calls.  The security issue has been resolved with the DECT 6.0 phones because the frequency is always changing as you talk to allow for privacy.   The DECT 6.0 phones also use less battery and gives you more talk time and more idle time before recharging the phone on the base.     Both the single line and multiline cordless phones need to recharge on the base for the phones to be used.  These phones need to charge when the battery gets low or you will lose your call.   These phones both have the same features of call forwarding, call transfer, conference calling and telephone directory.  The only difference in these phones is the way you use them.
